First obtain the University's Graduate Application.
Instructions on how to apply as a Non-Degree Seeking student (NDSS) are located at the University of Maryland Graduate School Website. You must fill out the online application. Do not send letters of recommendation or GRE test scores, as these are not necessary for NDSS applications. A brief 3-5 sentence statement of purpose in a word doc is all that is needed.

Pay the application fee of $75 online. The Graduate School will not process your application without the application fee.
The Graduate School will allow you to register for one semester with copies of transcripts. Requesting official transcripts from all institutions that you have attended will allow you to take classes for five years without reapplying (recommended).
