The Joint Program will strive to increase the number of survey professionals from groups traditionally under represented in the field, including racial and ethnic minorities and women. The admissions committee seeks to have diverse entering cohorts of students, reflecting a variety of personal backgrounds, and educational and work experiences.
The University of Maryland is committed to the goal of achieving a multicultural, multiracial campus, and actively encourages applications from members of minority groups. It is toward this end that the Office of Graduate Minority Affairs was established to coordinate graduate recruitment and retention efforts campus-wide. The Office also reviews policies which affect the quality of graduate life and underwrites initiatives which highlight the racial and cultural diversity of the university community. If you have any questions regarding the Office of Graduate Minority Affairs, please call them at (301) 405-4183 or call Toll Free 1-800-245-4723.
